Born in the southern Spanish town of Málaga and active in Paris and the south of France, Picasso was this century's greatest artist. Throughout his life Picasso followed a cycle of creation and then destruction and one of his Post World War II experiments was an attempt to dissolve or dismantle the structuralism of Cubism.
