ミロの作品では常に自然に基づく象徴的記号が登場する。この作品でも、太陽や星を示す記号が極めて単純化されて、画面の重要な構成要素となっている。プリミティヴでどこか稚拙さをも感じさせる表現であるが、同時に、広々とした天空を想わせるような明るい雄大な雰囲気を持つ作品である。このような大らかさは、戦後のミロ芸術が示す際立った特徴である。（出典: 国立西洋美術館名作選. 東京, 国立西洋美術館, 2006. cat. no. 120）

Miró's works usually feature abstract symbols based on nature. Here, extremely simplified symbols of the sun and stars form the important structural elements of the composition. At the same time, this primitive and slightly awkward expression has a large bright feel that allows the viewer to imagine the expansive heavens.
