Kurzer; purchased from the above by Paul Cassirer, Berlin, 1921; purchased from the above by Kojiro Matsukata, Kobe, 19 August 1921, PC no. 17030, as “Schneearbeiter” [see records in the Paul Cassirer Archive, Walter Feilchenfeldt AG, Zurich (copy in NMWA curatorial file)]; pledged by Matsukata to save his business, Kawasaki Dockyard Co., Ltd., Kobe and then seized by the Jugo Bank, Tokyo, 1927; 3rd Matsukata sale, Tokyo, 17 May–4 July 1930, lot 57, repr.; private collection, Tokyo; deposited in NMWA, Tokyo, since 19 September 1959, Dep. 59-1 (D-1).
