本素描はおそらくベルリンの新博物館のドーム内壁画の準備素描である。

Kojiro Matsukata, Kobe; pledged by Matsukata to save his business, Kawasaki Dockyard Co., Ltd., Kobe and then seized by Jugo Bank, Tokyo, 1927, no. 168 [Jugo Bank label on backboard]; private collection, Japan; deposited in NMWA, 19 August 2009–18 March 2013, ref. no. 103; deposited again in NMWA, 25 January 2016, ref. no. 103; purchased by NMWA, 13 July 2017.
