Emanuel; The Leicester Galleries, London [gallery label on backboard]; purchased from the gallery by Kojiro Matsukata, Kobe, 1 August 1917, as etching, ‘Old Kew Bridge’ (£11.55) [see the Leicester Galleries records at Ernest & Phillips Ltd.; copy in NMWA curatorial files]; pledged by Matsukata to save his business, Kawasaki Dockyard Co., Ltd., Kobe and then seized by Jugo Bank, Tokyo, 1927 [Jugo Bank label on backboard]; private collection, Japan; deposited in NMWA, 25 January 2016, ref. no. 120; purchased by NMWA, 13 July 2017.
