Text Boyer, who was from a poor family, lost the use of one of his arms in an accident that took place while he was working at a printing press. Although he had never received any formal training in the arts, he was a painter of the so-called ノcole de Paris. The model is the painter Tsuguji Foujita (1886-1968), who was active in France during the first half of this century. Boyer captured his characteristic pageboy harirstyle and short mustache with an artless technique. (Source: The Digital Gallery. 1999-2006)
