神話に語られる女神たちの美人コンテスト。審判者であるトロイア王子パリスが、勝者ヴィーナスに黄金のリンゴを手渡す。ヴィーナスの傍らにはコンテストに敗れたアテナとヘラがおり、パリスの後ろには彼のもとに女神たちを連れてきたヘルメス、右上にはヴィーナスに従うキューピッドも表されている。このコンテストが遠因となってトロイア戦争が勃発し、パリス自身も命を落とすこととなった。(出典: クラインマイスター：16世紀前半ドイツにおける小画面の版画家たち, 2012. [展覧会作品解説パネル])
