『人生のうるわしき日々』：（33）記念日とズボン吊り「ほら、私のいとしいあなた・・・私の記念日にこのズボン吊りに刺繍をしたの！・・・」（男は密かに）「結構なこった、おれのタンスの中にはもう11組も刺繍したズボン吊りがあるってのに・・・今回はまた少なくとも50エキュの出費は確実だな。まったく女どもはおれたちがズボンをはいているのにかこつけて、やたらおれたちにズボン吊りをつけさせたがる！・・・」 <LIFE'S HAPPY DAYS>: (33) A SAINT'S DAY AND DAY OF BRACES: — Here my sweetheart... on the occasion of my Saint's day I've embroidered these braces!... — (The gentleman, aside.) Good God I've already got eleven pairs of them in my drawer... I won't get away with it this time for less than fifty crowns!... women really take too great an advantage of our wearing trousers, so as to make us wear braces!...
