受胎告知の後、マリアは従姉のエリザベトを訪ねる。エリザベトもまた子を宿したばかりで、2人は互いに祝福しあった（《マリアのエリザベト訪問》G.2000-0009）。女性たちを見守るのは、マリアの夫でキリストの養父となるヨセフである。やがて臨月を迎えたマリアは粗末な厩でキリストを産み、飼葉桶に寝かせた（《キリストの降誕》G.2000-0010）。夜空には星が輝いているが、この星に導かれて、東方の3人の王たちが贈り物をたずさえ礼拝に訪れる（《三王礼拝》G.2000-0011）。そして降誕後8日目には、キリストの割礼の儀式が行われた（《キリストの割礼》G.2000-0012）。神殿の中央で神官に抱かれているのがキリストである。(出典: クラインマイスター：16世紀前半ドイツにおける小画面の版画家たち, 2012.
