裸体に薄布をまとおうとするモデルの動作が素早い鉛筆の線で捉えられている。裸体の部分に淡黄色の淡彩が施され、その上に薄布を表わす淡い青の淡彩が重ねられている。青と黄色がまじりあうことによって生じた緑は周辺まで広がっている。鉛筆による線描と殆ど滲みとも見える淡彩の組み合わせが、この素描に不思議な魅力を与えている。（出典: 国立西洋美術館名作選. 東京, 国立西洋美術館, 2004. cat. no. 112）

Rodin made a rough pencil sketch of a model who was putting on a thin dress. He then painted a light yellow wash over the skin areas. By layering light blue on the clothing, he created light green in various places, which, in turn, produced a transparent effect. The colors beneath the right arm and around the feet serve as a strong accent that tightens the composition of the watercolor. (Source: The Digital Gallery. 1999-2006)
